The company ran a stable S/4HANA system on an older release that was leaving mainstream maintenance, and structural changes in the business needed new processes.

What we did

  • Upgraded to SAP S/4HANA on-premise 2023 using a shell conversion
  • Remediated custom ABAP code and discontinued the HCM component
  • Ran workshops with business users and configured improvements in finance, costing, production, sales and procurement that formed part of the upgrade business case
  • Carried out cutover and go-live on the new release

The result

Live on S/4HANA 2023 without any significant issue, with the improvements the business case promised. We now provide AMS, including RICEF developments, process changes and automation.

Hop is our name for SAP upgrades, enhancements, Fiori development and cloud migration. It is step 3 of four in our Seek, Walk, Hop and Leap journey to the Autonomous Enterprise.
What is a clean core?
Keeping S/4HANA close to standard and building custom logic as extensions on the SAP Business AI Platform. It keeps upgrades fast and cheap and gives AI a reliable foundation.
Can AI help with upgrades?
Yes. AI-assisted tools now help with custom-code analysis, test generation and data preparation, which reduces the time and risk of upgrades.
Is lift-and-shift worth it if we will move to S/4HANA later?
Often, yes. It removes data-centre cost and risk now and gives you a cloud base that makes the later conversion faster.
