Leap · SAP S/4HANA Implementation and Migration

SAP Cloud ERP Implementation

SAP Cloud ERP, formerly SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, is SAP's ready-to-run ERP in the public cloud. Instead of designing every process from scratch, you start from SAP's best-practice processes, called scope items, and confirm them in Fit-to-Standard workshops. We implement it with SAP Activate, keep the core clean with key-user, developer and side-by-side extensibility, and bring Joule and AI capabilities in from day one.

SAP Cloud ERP Implementation
When you need it

Is this right for you?

  • You want a fast, standard start on a modern ERP
  • Your processes can follow SAP best practices with little customisation
  • You are a mid-size or growing company, or a subsidiary joining a group on a two-tier ERP
  • You want SAP to run the upgrades, twice a year, instead of running upgrade projects yourself

SAP Cloud ERP Implementation is part of Leap, our name for SAP S/4HANA implementation, ECC to S/4HANA migration and SAP Business AI Platform extensions.

Approach

ExploreFit-to-Standard workshops and the delta backlog.
RealizeConfigure, extend, migrate and test in sprints.
RunGo-live, hypercare, upgrades and AMS.
Fit-to-Standard

Start from SAP best practices, not a blank page.

SAP Cloud ERP comes with hundreds of scope items: pre-built, documented business processes such as J58 for accounting and financial close, BD9 for sell from stock and J45 for procurement of direct materials. We activate the ones you need, then walk your team through each one in Fit-to-Standard workshops. Every requirement ends up in one of three places.

01

Fits

Most processes. Your team sees the scope item working with sample data and confirms it.

02

Configure

Settings, organisation structure, approvals and output, done in configuration with no code.

03

Extend

A real gap that adds value. It goes on the backlog with the right kind of extensibility.

SAP Activate for SAP Cloud ERP: Discover and Prepare, then Explore with Fit-to-Standard workshops (demo scope items in the starter system, confirm fit or log a delta, decide each delta, sign off the backlog), then Realize, Deploy and Run with two SAP upgrades a year
Clean-core extensibility

Extend it without touching the core.

In SAP Cloud ERP, SAP's code is never modified. That is what lets SAP upgrade every customer twice a year. When a gap is worth closing, there are three ways to do it, and we pick the lightest one that works.

01

Key-user extensibility

No-code and low-code tools in Fiori apps: custom fields, custom logic, custom CDS views and analytics, forms and UI adaptations. Done by business experts, safe across upgrades.

02

Developer extensibility

ABAP Cloud and the RESTful ABAP programming model, running on the ERP itself, using only released APIs and extension points. For logic that has to sit close to the data.

03

Side-by-side extensibility

Apps, portals, workflows, integrations and AI agents built on the SAP Business AI Platform (formerly SAP BTP) and connected through released APIs and events. A lifecycle of their own, so the ERP upgrade never waits for them.

Clean-core extensibility in SAP Cloud ERP: key-user and developer extensibility on-stack above the unmodified SAP standard code, and side-by-side extensions on the SAP Business AI Platform connected through released APIs and events
Questions

SAP Cloud ERP Implementation, answered.

What is SAP Cloud ERP?
SAP Cloud ERP is the new name for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition: SAP's complete ERP for finance, procurement, sales, manufacturing, projects and more, delivered as a public cloud service. SAP runs and upgrades the system, so every customer is always on the current release.
What is Fit-to-Standard?
Instead of writing a blueprint from scratch, we show your team SAP's best-practice processes working in a starter system. For each one you confirm it fits, adjust it through configuration, or log a gap. Only gaps that genuinely add value are extended. It is faster and cheaper, and it keeps upgrades simple.
What are scope items?
Scope items are SAP's pre-built, documented business processes, for example J58 for accounting and financial close, BD9 for sell from stock and J45 for procurement of direct materials. Each comes with configuration, process flows and test scripts. You choose the ones your business needs and activate them.
Can we customise SAP Cloud ERP?
Yes, without modifying SAP's code. Key-user extensibility adds fields, logic, reports and forms; developer extensibility adds ABAP Cloud logic through released APIs; and side-by-side extensions on the SAP Business AI Platform add new apps, workflows, integrations and AI agents. All of them carry through upgrades.
What is side-by-side extensibility?
Building an extension outside the ERP, on the SAP Business AI Platform (formerly SAP BTP), and connecting it through released APIs and events. It suits new apps, portals, workflows and AI agents with a lifecycle of their own, so they never slow down an ERP upgrade.
How do upgrades work?
SAP delivers two major releases a year, plus regular hotfixes, to every customer. We maintain an automated regression test pack and review each release with you, so new features are switched on deliberately and nothing breaks.
SAP Cloud ERP or SAP Cloud ERP, Private?
SAP Cloud ERP suits companies that can run on standard processes and want the fastest start. SAP Cloud ERP, Private suits larger or more complex businesses, and those moving an existing SAP ECC system. A readiness assessment compares the two for you.
Is SAP Cloud ERP ready for India?
Yes. It includes the India localisation with GST, and e-invoicing is handled through SAP Document and Reporting Compliance. We set these up as part of the implementation.
